EIHA to re-launch Power of Twelve

19 Aug 2023 by Danny Perchard - EIHA Juniors Events Manager

We are delighted to re-launch new and exciting Power of Twelve trials for the 2023/24 season.

The ‘Power of…’ events have always been the first stage in showing our young players the experience of what the England National Team Programme is all about.

Power of Twelve is only available for players who currently hold a British Passport and are eligible for the England national team.

This year, we are looking to do trials with the intention of participating in an event in Europe for players born in 2012, and have invited clubs to provide feedback on players they think would be suitable for the programme.

Elite player pathway general manager Ben Pitchley said: “The 2012 age group sadly missed out last season due to limitations on resources, but we acknowledge the need to provide them with similar opportunities to other programmes.

“We are looking to put a team together to enable us to possibly attend a training camp and tournament in Europe, for those players eligible for the England National Team Programme.

“We welcome the feedback from clubs, which was used in Showcase last year, and one we will continue to develop over the season as a great tool to link club hockey with the elite player pathways.”

Our first trial will commence Monday 18 September in Nottingham for players chosen by the ENTP selection team. This will be invitation only.

As before, the elite player pathway wants to work closer with clubs to identify players who deserve the opportunity to progress onto the ENTP pathway.
